I go to these movies without reviewing the book so that I can let go of my desire for it to be totally true to plot - instead, I see each movie for what it is, and this was visually stunning, the actors are getting better and better, and the plot was focused more on relationships of characters. I do remember that this was one of the most ominous books yet, but I didn't get that feel from the movie - spooky parts for sure, but also a lot of lightness and even humor.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
