I am a fan of Ali G and Borat, and of Sacha Baron Cohen in general. However, this movie is not up to his previous standards. Part of what made Borat so funny was that so much of it wasn't staged. Cohen would set up a situation and then watch people deal with it. That was fascinating and hilarious, though sometimes extremely awkward. In Bruno, the scenes are nearly all staged or scripted and the humor is more crude than funny. Cohen repeatedly emphasizes the "rear-entry" gag, using it to push the buttons of squeamish straight folks in the audience. I did laugh a few times, but most of the funny stuff is in the trailers. Do yourself a favor: Save your ten bucks and watch Jerry Springer at home.
