What great performances by Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie!
Kathryn Bigelow's direction is wonderful and Mark Boal's storytelling is excellent as well.
Shot with 4 16mm cameras.
Highly recommended.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

What a great self-portrait of Agnes Varda. I went to see this documentary on the 82-year old French director because I listened to a wonderful interview on KCRW. I generally do not like seeing films with subtitles since I wind up reading the text and not watching the action on the screen, but because this is a documentary I didn't have that problem.
I am now an Agnes Varda fan!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Suspension of Disbelief

I was attracted by the poster. I thought this film would be another "Azumi" - which was based on a manga as well. Instead I found "Blood: The Last Vampire" to be poorly written, with terrible casting and lacking in authenticity (sets and costumes didn't look like medieval Japan, but somewhere in SE Asia). Demons (oni) didn't look anything like what any Japanese artist would conjure up - they were just humans with occasionally flashing red eyes, who supposedly sucked blood (which we never saw).
The manga's got to be better.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
