Great movie, has Guy Ritchies trademark slo-mo fight scenes (a la Snatch) and dark-styled imagery.. awesome take on SH. This movie has nothing to do with the occult! Anybody who thinks that wasn't paying attention to the story, also the hanging noose scenes are not that bad and are necessary for the story! Anybody of any age who has intelligence will LIKE this movie a lot.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I'm not a reader of Harry Potter books, if I was maybe I wouldn't have enjoyed it so much. The movie is witty and funny, amazing cinematography.. some of the best I have ever seen. Dark but really likeable. This is one of the best Harry Potter movies made- close tie with the 2nd one. The teen love issues that some people don't like I thought were hilarious. Maybe those people are so old they forgot what its like to be a kid ;)

Good for kids but could have been so much better

I could not escape with this movie.. Bad acting/dialogue was too corny and romance was forced, Marlon was funny but aside from some comedy this movie failed to deliver anything. Some f/x were ok like the ones they ripped off from the Matrix, but a lot of them were laughable. Sure you can't expect much depth but this movie could not have been more predictable.. why anyone would buy the dvd is beyond me. Check your brain at the door, otherwise theres another certain sci-fi movie out now that is waaay cooler! ;)

What a story! As the Matrix did this movie combines concepts from different areas, like live interviews, apartheid , aliens, human and military reactions to an outside force.. its one of the dopest storylines ever!! Forget about Star Trek, Transformers & hatever else.. those movies BLOW compared to this one. Although Star Trek is good this is just way more original and thought-provoking. To the reviewer who thinks you need to study the apartheid in Africa to understand the movie, that's bogus- it's only showing what a future apartheid could be. You don't have to be a genius to understand this movie and the implications it's trying to make. Overall this movie really is in my top 5 of all time sci-fi flicks.. and thats a hard place to get.
