Absolutely beautiful graphics = 5 stars
Using the US Marines to show destruction to a beautiful world killing innocent people for the sole purpose of greed = 0 stars
Thus the 3 star rating, go see it for the beautiful animation and graphics and one man and one womans ability to see beyond the greed and thier ability to love and fight for a race and culture different from thier own.

A bit Silly

Too much time spent on the relationships brewing amongst the students, which were sooo unbelievable, very juvenile. Kids this age would be all over each other or wait are they in the sixth grade going on 19?????
I would love to have seen more time spent on the darker areas of the book. The Half Blood Prince and horcruxes should have been the focus here, not the silly childlike romances.

If you've read the book, you will be very disappointed in the movie. This is not a good representation of Picoult's work.
Wait for DVD,no need to see this one in the theatre and bawl in front of a bunch of people that you do not know.
Great acting by Abigail Breslin. Not quite the right role for Diaz.

A little disappointing

This movie is pretty crude, which I don't mind at all and am always up for a good laugh, but the crudeness here got old pretty quick. It was like, OK, can you do something else to make me laugh now. I would like to have seen more funny (most were just grossed out) responses from the "unknowing" in the movie, they weren't really that funny (except for the rednecks!)
