In the context of a high school comedy, fraught with innuendo and language, a glimmer of Chris Columbus still glows in embers. The truth of the matter is that an attempt is made on the urgency of fulfilling a life-long dream to be with the "ideal" girl by the butt of all high school jokes, the nerdy, geeky, never-been-kissed bookworm, yet the underlying message has some sense of heart and purpose. The real message is that people do not peak in high school, and being someone who has self-worth shines above the notion that being popular is an end-all proposition for life's goals. A little rough, overly reliant on language, yet the films finds a voice. 3.5 stars, more if they did not use the "adult" content.
