My husband and I just finished watching this only 5.5 hours ago as we went to the midnight showing, and I have to say - even he was impressed! He's not a Harry Potter buff, but has watched all the movies (thanks to bringing him to all of them over the years) and really enjoyed it.
As a reader who also goes to the movies, I never expect to go to the theater and see the book portrayed right. But this movie surprised me - it is pretty accurate. Not that I'm saying it was word for word accurate, but it was a smooth enough plot line to follow that those who have read the books, aren't thinking in our heads - "THEY SKIPPED FOUR CHAPTERS!" or anything like that.
I'd definitely recommend to a friend and will definitely go again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
