Funny best less dramatic

My 9 year old and I went to the midnight release of HP expecting a lot intense action and a darker movie. What we saw was a lot of teenage love angst which, while very funny, left my 9 year old "in the dark". You need to read a lot of the facial expressions and body language to "get it". The audience laughed out loud frequently, but barely gasped in suspense. I truly enjoyed the movie and the cinematography. I wanted more in the ending as it was way too simplistic and "gentle". This book was very intense and heart pounding while the movie did not portray this feeling as well. I would prefer a PG-13 version that is more true to the real ending.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
