Underdeveloped plot; quintessence of a gun show

I love movies like The Departed, The Good Shepherd, A Beautiful Mind-- so if this strikes a chord with you...
Public Enemies had very little plot development- a redundant game of cat and mouse. Moreover character development was shallow at best.
The one thing I enjoyed about the movie was its well tailored costuming and setting for the time period; visually aesthetic! :)
I expected a lot better for a movie starring Bale and Depp.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
