As an avid Old Muppet Show viewer and fan. I was excited and to see this movie, and to take my 17,11,and 10 yr old kids to see it. Sadly we were VERY disapointed with this movie. In fact we were so bored we actually left and went to see another movie at the mutiplex we were at.
I'm not sure if even little kids would find this movie entertaining. I use to like the musical numbers on the show, however in this movie they interrupted the flow of the movie. Just as the movie would start to get entertaining, musical number would interrupt.
I would wait for DVD and RENT it, not worth buying either. Sorry.
Strongly recommend. Good Saturday night entertainment. Aaron Eckhart does a great job playing a grizzled marine veteran towards the end of his career. Battle scenes very realistic. Had me taking cover!! LoL. All in all good entertainment.
Having been a fan of the original, Mechanic. I was wondering how they could make it better. Well, Jason and co. did a Faboulous job! Out doing the original by a mile. Story was more intersting and much faster paced. They tied everything up nicely. Overall much better job. Altohugh a cameo by Jan Michael Vincent might have been a nice nod to the original. Strongly recommend!!
Although i found this True Grit, much different than original movie, it was still and entertaining film. Having read the original Charles Portis book, I found the new T.G. A LOT more faithful to the book than the Original movie. I really liked original and I am a big J. Wayne fan. Jeff Bridges takes over the role in his own unique way. My 16 year old son really enjoyed it also.
Good movie. Yes they did highlight the sex quite a bit but hey it was intregal to the story, no really it was. That said Jake and Anne did a goood acting job. Don't let the sex scare you away, it has a touching story.
Megamind had disapointed me so I was hoping this kid movie would redeem the genre...........AND BOY DID IT EVER!!! My kids and I LOVED it! Story was good, action ,romance, comedy and most importantly it was fun!!!
Movie was more than a little disapointing. It was needlessly long. I really enjoyed the comraderie between R. Downey Jr. and Jude Law. R. McAdams was a very capable and beautiful addition to the cast. However the depiction of S. Holmes as a strange, sloppy, and possibly slightly insane character, does not fit with the literary characterization of Holmes, that we have all come to know and enjoy over the years. Still the sets were very astonishing crafted, and the supporting cast was excellent. If the movie had been called something other than Sherlock Holmes maybe I would not have been so disapointed. However the length was a little to much and quit a few unecessary dead spots. Wait for DVD.
I was disappointed with this movie for many reasons, but the one most people will notice when they watch it, is the use, or lack of use, of Jim Carrey's stretchface and his comedy stlye. It pretty much was a standard adaption of "A Cristmas Carol". Done in 3-D Cartoon style. Which was cool, but there is nothing new here. You could rent any of theold 1930 versions of this movie and get the same effect. Bottomline if you think you are going to this movie to laugh, think again. A few chuckles at best. Oh and don't take young ones, a few scary moments, but once the novelty of the 3-D wears off, they will be bored.
Didn't know what to expect, but it turned out to be a good movie. Lots of action and quirky dialogue. Gotta admit Siena Miller looks good as brunette. Go see it!!
