Solid but a bit thin

While Johnny Depp, Marion Cotillard, Billy Crudup and Christian Bale came through with rich, engaging performances the script seemed to fall flat. Depp's lines were occasionally powerful but could have gone deeper. He was John Dillinger but i left wondering more about his relationships to his crew, who he watched die one by one. I would watch it again but more for the art direction. 1930s Chicago looks amazing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
