My husband and I took our 5 yo grand daughter. We got such a kick over how funny it was. We too were disappointed in the 3D, although for young children it would have been good, because it wasn't as scary that way. But I agree that spending the extra money for 3D was not worth it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
