An Eloquent Portrayal

By not trying to be too complex this movie acheives an intimate portrayal of an honest character. It's a paradox that loneliness in the hands of a genius can lead to great art but that alcoholism which grows out of the loneliness destroys that genius and perpetuates the loneiliness. This truth is brought to life with elegance and simplicity by Jeff Bridges in a performance that undeniably deserves the Oscar which he received.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
