This movie is better than any of the previous super hero movies that preceded it that focused only on one of the featured characters. It was actually surprising to see The Hulk steal the show since his previous movies have been somewhat disappointing. Iron Man is also great in this movie. IMO, Iron Man and The Hulk steal the show. Thor is great too, as is Captain America. I'm ready for a new set of films featuring each of the superheros separately. I think they will be better now that they have come into character. It's a shame that Hawkeye and Black Widow haven't had their own movie. I hope they make one! In short, this movie is great and revitalizes each of the heros featured to a point where you'll want to see more of them. I enjoyed it a lot!!!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, fx extravaganza, great characters, funny
This movie starts off being very cute and tidy. In short, these soon-to-be husband and wife couple put off their marriage so that Blunt's character can pursue an academic career in Michigan. I asked myself this question from the beginning: why would anyone postpone their marriage and current life in San Francisco for Michigan? In fact, this question was looming throughout the movie because her career is nothing great and Michigan sucks! The work sucks for him, her career is nothing great, and the weather really, really sucks.
Cons bad acting, slow, weak story, full of bad jokes
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Great chase thriller with original ideas and many surprises
A short man full of doubt about his relationship with his tall and beautiful wife over-compensates for everything for fear of losing her. His day job is headhunter for tech companies; he's also an art thief on the side. He over-spends on every aspect of his lavish life to impress his (tall) wife. This is a very entertaining film with some Hollywood production qualities, but it's decidedly Swedish/European in tone and execution. It reminded me of the refreshing feeling I had when I first saw "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." See if if you liked that movie and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Pros great story, great actors, creative, full of twists
This is a terrifically acted and gracefully directed movie about some tough and complicated topics, including suicide and exile. The namesake character, M. Lazhar, is in exile from Algeria. Without ruining the plot, let me just say that he left his country to pave the way for the rest of his family and some terrible things happened to them and they didn't make it. He assumes the role of the replacement teacher for a class whose teacher recently committed suicide. Every scene is emotionally charged, especially the ones involving some truly amazing child actors who are going through all of the pains of childhood as well as the recent loss of their teacher. It's also worth mentioning that this movie is set in French Canada and some of the current laws of that country are mildly criticized. I would recommend this movie to those who appreciate well-crafted stories and tempered acting. It's not for everyone, but it's a gem of a movie that the more discerning moviegoer will enjoy tremendously.
This movie is good and ridiculous. It's about a group of overly chatty, nerdy socialites who spend their days defending morons, typically guys, who can't think for themselves and need to be saved. This is a movie that's high on concept. There's not traditional storyline and I found that some of the tangents worked and others didn't. However, it was creative enough to keep me interested.
You will love this movie if you are any of the following:
-a creature of habit; -a sushi lover; -someone who loves the Food Network; -a business student; -an artist; -a chef; -someone looking to start a business, particularly a restaurant business; -a student of Japanese culture; or, -an avid moviegoer.
This is a movie about an 85-year old man who is quite possibly the greatest sushi chef on the planet. He has polished his craft to such a degree that it's as close to perfection as possible. His restaurant has a 1-month waiting list for reservations and he puts his apprentices through a 10-year training curriculum prior to considering them fully trained. His goal is simple: do the best possible job...and do that every day for the rest of your life. This is a great movie and you will be mesmerized by the story and everything you see, which includes monster close-ups of the best sushi imaginable.
This movie is about love and war. There's a love triangle similar to the one that drove the Twilight movies between a young woman and two young boys. Their love develops as the games progress, only to become the centerpiece of the story. This is, first and foremost, a love story. It's true that there's plenty of action and it plays fairly well, but this is the type of movie that get young girls to scream in the theater. If you're annoyed by that, refrain from seeing this movie in the theater. It is, however, the new "it" thing in movies and there are surely to be at least two more movies to round off the trilogy. As it happens, that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world because this is rich material and this first installment had great moments. Go and see it, just understand the caveats mentioned above.
This movie is an over-dramatized, over-played, and uninspired love story between a woman who discovers love while in a loveless marriage. It's exhausting to watch because the emotions suppressed and too many things remain unsaid. Overall, it's a depressing rag of a film that never quite finds it's momentum to tell the story of a trio of Brits who love the wrong people and tear their lives apart doing it.
This 90-minute joke would have been better suited for the length of an SNL skit instead. The longer I was watching it the more frustrated I got with the asinine premise and lack of a functioning script. You'll only laugh at the ridiculousness of it all, but that won't carry you for long. Avoid this movie entirely.
Like Fargo, this movie is about a scheming salesman in desperate need of money. Greg Kinnear plays the salesman. The prize for best performance in this film goes to Billy Crudup, for his portrayal of a lunatic locksmith who steals, kills, and comes up with the most elaborate rants imaginable. Crudup is so good that you'll look forward to seeing him again after he leaves each scene. The movie unfolds like a crime caper movie, complete with foolish cops. The ending is drawn out, but you get the answers to everything. You'll probably like this film if you liked the movie Fargo. Unfortunately, much of this movie will remind you of Fargo and the writer should've tried to avoid so many similarities.
