Heigl and Butler are funny together and the story is worth sitting through. My girlfriend absolutely loved it and I didn't hate it. If you want to enjoy a night at the movies with your woman and have her hear some truth for a change, this will do the trick. Hey, she might even put out with more effort as a result of it--now that's entertainment.
The Harry Potter mythology continues to produce some intriguing twists and turns that make for solid entertainment. The Half-Blood Prince sequel feels like more of same things that impressed us before. This one felt to me like a pause in the story that serves to complicate the plot so that it can gather momentum in the next sequel. After so many sequels, do we (the audience) really need to catch our second wind? See it if you must, but don't expect to be thrilled with the ending of this installment.
This movie is disgustingly funny and pushes the envelope more than you're lead to believe from the trailers--and that's a lot!!! You will be exposed to every stereotype imaginable within the subject matter, which is homosexuals, fashion, Germans, etc. I must admit I cracked up during and am still thinking back and laughing at certain jokes. It's not for the weak at heart or narrow minded, but it delivers shocking comedy that you will think back on and laugh while still in disbelief that it got away with an "R" rating and not the "NC-!7" kiss of death.
This movie will have you at the edge of your seat as you follow a military bomb squad through the streets of bagdad difusing bombs. The characters are well written and realistic in a way we rarely experience. You'll also be treated to some brief appearances by some veteran actors who add credability to the story. You'll enjoy the action, intense scenes of war stress, and stunningly realistic situations that these "wild men" face scene after scene.
My very sensitive girlfriend dragged me to this film and I was crying like an idiot near the end. Why? Well, because the entire theater was in tears and it...seemed like the thing to do. All kidding aside, the young actors in this film are outstanding. This is a movie about death and dying, and the terrible choices people have to make when they're faced with terminal illnesses. BTW, I didn't think Cameron Diaz was very good, but the young actors and Alec Baldwin were outstanding.
This ia a state of the art special effects extravaganza that lasts 2 1/2 hrs. If you like action movies, this is a must-see film. My only problem with the film is that I'm getting sick of wAtching Shia play the exact same role in every movie.
Sandra Bullock looks great naked for 45! This is a fun movie about a loveless boss who falls in love with her Assistant, played here by 33 year old Ryan Reynolds. Once you get over their age differences, you can really have fun watching them play their rolls with perfect timing. Take someone you love and you're certain to enjoy this well crafted romantic comedy.
Denzel is awesome in his role, but I didn't believe Travolta's character for a moment. He shouldn't accept any more white collar characters and stick to the sleazy blue collar criminals he's so natural at. Despite his unbelievable portrayal of an ex-private equity manager, I found myself at the edge of my seat following the story and Denzel's terrific performance.
Will Ferrell and Danny McBride are painful to watch in this all-too-faithful reproduction of the bad old TV show, Land of the Lost. Don't even see it for the effects, which are sad to sit through. At this end the 1 1/2 hrs, you will have sat through a couple of good jokes out of hundreds of attempts and a bad story that's unable to keep you entertained.
