I must admit I enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. Wouldn't it have been great to have terrorized the Third Reich and it's leader during their massacre of millions? This movie lets you live out that fantasy for 2 1/2 hours! If you buy into the story early on, you're guaranteed a wild and entertaining ride.
This movie is very pleasant to watch throughout. I was interested in the story, the characters, and their destiny. The romance part of the story is terrific and moving, but the sci-fi part is lacking in development. This is a good date movie that will please the woman more than the guy and won't feel like a waste of time to either.
Three accomplished musicians, from three different generations of rock get together to share secrets, influences, and passions. I am a huge fan of U2 and Led Zep and this movie really worked for me. Jack White holds his own and even impresses. See this film if you like rock and any of these guitar players and you'll leave the theater wanting to hear more of them.
This movie starts off as a documentary and quickly turns into a run-for-your-life sci-fi action movie. Make no mistake about it, the humans are the predators here. This story is only enhanced by its South African setting, which gives the Director and Writer an opportunity to highlight some of the treacheries of apartheid, racism, corporations, gangs, etc. This story is rich with metaphor and content while giving you top-notch, edge-of-your-seat sci-fi entertainment. This is the best sci-fi movie in a long time! See it.
Do you remember Natural Born Killers? Well, that was one possible extreme for a guy-girl serial killer story. A Perfect Getaway tries to be something much less extreme than that and can't deliver the thrills. By the time the killers are revealed and the action begins, you'll have spent too many minutes disappointed in your seat, out of popcorn, and glad to have to go restroom to get away for a bit--now that will be the perfect time to make your getaway from this forgettable film.
GI Joe is a poorly executed, cartoon-like action film that tries to be more like X-Men than the military special-ops movie it should have been. The result here is not a good set-up for a new franchise, but rather 2-hours of non-stop video-game-like action without any kind of intelligent storyline or character development. Too bad, I was hoping for more.
This movie is loaded with talented actors who pull off a wide range of emotions throughout every scene. The romance between Adam, a "high-functioning autistic," and a mildly disfunctional woman is touching and well played out. The ending feels a bit strained, but at least it's not your typical Hollywood ending.
Are the Scottish really as vulgar as they're made out to be in film? Is Washington DC being run by a bunch of well-educated twenty-somethings? Are politics, be they American or British, a big joke? This movie explores all the angles and it's a ton of fun to watch. I recommend this rant to those who like and dislike politics and politicians. It's not light viewing, but it's fun.
This is a movie about a psycho woman who poses as an orphan girl to manipulate people and ruin their lives. If the words "Astonian Dwarf" don't appeal to you, then avoid this movie at all costs. It's deeper into left field than you imagine.
Back-and-forth romance about a guy who goes ga-ga for an adventurous and selfish co-worker. This movie has it's funny moments, but it's essentially a tragedy in which we see a very likable guy get schooled on the randomness of love and life. I experienced anger, anxiety, frustration and pity towards the main characters. See it if you've had your heart crushed by someone and you'll recognize it immediately. It's probably not for you if you can't relate.
