Stiller plays a recently released, heavily medicated mental patient desperately looking for approval from his family and friends. Stiller is good at playing the part, but it's depressing to see a world where every character is misfiring and causing those around them pain. Of course, we all experience misery in our lives, just not to the degree that Greenberg does. See it only if you like movies that exploit abnormal behavior and poke fun at those who can't figure out the rules of society.
It might be set in 1986, but the drugs and free love attitude feel more like 1976 in this somewhat entertaining film. Heck, it even has Chevy Chase in it! But it is fun to watch and the music adds to the comedy in a good way. Rob Corddry's character is hilarious!
This movie provides a good time throughout, with definite chemistry between Butler and Aniston. The story is uninspired and silly, but you know that going in from the trailers. However, the physical comedy is properly times and fun to watch; and, Aniston reaffirms herself an the sexiest comedic actress around.
It's a shame that the writer and director of this film were unable to create a more focused story for these top-knotch actors to execute a better film. As it is, the story is unspired and full of illogical sequences that should've been better. There are moments in this film that give you a glimpse of how good it should've been, but they're too few in number to redeem the failed moments that surround them.
You will be surprised by the ending of this film. In retrospect, what goes on in the first 90% of this movie is a terrific set-up for the ending that's to come. It recalls the naive nature of American life prior to 9/11/01 with a cute romance between a dysfunctional young couple who attend an artsy college in Manhattan and share life-death experiences that make them a true match. Unlike most movies out there, it's worth seeing for the ending.
This is an action-packed, politically charged movie with Damon as a rogue WMD squad leader on a mission to get to the bottom of why the USA attacked Iraq, and whether or not it was under false pretenses. I might sound corny, but it's well crafted throughout and you will be entertained. The director is truly in the driver's seat in this movie and and I was truly entertained with scenes that had plenty of shock and awe!
Snipes is back! He adds credibility and intensity to this movie about desperate cops and the crazy streets they work. I especially enjoyed the tricky no-win relationship between Cheadle and Snipes' characters. Ethan Hawke was also quite good and his story made you think about the inner conflicts cops encounter whenever they touch a bunch of money. This movie follows several different characters through their personal lives and their experiences and climaxes in an explosive ending that's not to be missed.
Superbly crafted prison film about the power struggles and mob-rules of prison. The main character is a boy who becomes a man in prison as he survives day-by-day under the auspices of a high-ranking Corsican mob boss inmate who controls the guards and the porters. This movie recalls "Goodfellas" and "The Godfather" and is equally good. You will be impressed and, most importantly, thoroughly entertained. I highly recommend this film.
Action packed and intriguing yarn about a military mistake that causes a biological outbreak in a small town in Iowa. The military is the monster in this horror film and the bodies pile up quickly. Olyphant and Mitchell are really good running and hiding from an unpredictable mob of crazies and, worse, the U.S. military on orders to kill. This movie delivered a good time and some innovative scares. I highly recommend it to to those who like horror films.
You are certain to appreciate Tracy Morgan's comedy by the end of this movie. He's certainly irritating and frustrating to endure during the first half of the film, but he redeems himself by the end and I enjoyed his role most of all. The others are fun to watch as they make there way through this ridiculous plot involving a flamboyant Mexican gang that's desperately searching for a crucifix-shaped USB drive that contains the key to hundreds of millions of $.
