Great visuals, but why mess with a good story? It would have been better, IMHO, to stick with the original storyline a bit more, and make a sequel to cover Through the Looking Glass. Also, maybe should have had a better warning about content for parents of very young kids. Too many assumed it would be okay for the under 10's because it's a fairy tale.
Good casting, though, and special effects.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
