Never in my wildest dream did I ever think the book was about a troubled child from a disfunctional family. As with most films recently, it is very dark, full of bickering about nothing, and sad. I read the book in my childhood, and read it to my kids. We were all disapointed about the film. My 6 year-old kept saying "THAT is not like the book,right?" Right.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
