Uneven but spectacular

I went into the movie with high expectations both as a comic collector and an action junkie and X-MEN First Class delivered. I liked the tensions between Xavier and Magneto. I also thought the relationship between Beast and Mystique was handled well. I did think that McAvoy's portrayal of Dr. X was a bit heavy-handed and Kevin Bacon was certainly "comical" as Shaw. The special effects were mind blowing as was January Jones in that outfit. Oliver Platt's performance was a throwaway. It was a very pretty film with a bit of acne.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
