Definitely a 'theater' movie

This one will be best if seen in a theater. It will lose much of it's visual impact on the TV at home. The story introduces us to the main characters and reaches its' end about 15 years before Dorothy Gale will crash land on a witch. The art direction and the opening titles are very good. Several directors have tried to make movies from the Baum stories but would be handicapped by the characters and how to bring them to life on the screen. Computers have solved that. Good job Mr. Raimi!
