I went in thinking I was going to watch an alien invasion movie, but instead, I got suckered into watching a 2 hour army recruitment ad... and Michael J. Fox was the cameraman... People keep saying: "OMG If you liked Independence Day/Aliens/Cloverfield etc.. then you'll LOVE this movie lol." WRONG. The difference between those movies and this one is that they were actually GOOD. You knew what was happening, explanations were given, and the scenes were in focus. Not Battle LA... I knew as soon as one of the first scenes started playing "California Love", that I was in for a long night of hardcore cliche-in-a-box. Wait for it to come out on Netflix in 2 weeks if you have an itch to watch. Not worth the ticket price, they shoulda paid ME instead...
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This is the greatest movie I've ever seen. I've gone to watch it several times now and everytime, my mouth hangs open and I can't look away from the screen. It's kind of like Star Wars meets Pocahontas (sorry for misspelling) Lots of action, humor, and the story is great. Cameron does a wonderful job about making you care about the forest and its inhabitants. Die-hard flag-wavers might be disappointed however, since the overall theme of the movie is anti-war :)
I enjoyed this movie. It was fun to watch (loooove the 3D), and was almost word for word true to the Dickens tale. The animation, the lighting, and attention to detail is AMAZING. I thought it was great that they modeled many of the characters after their voice actors: Bob Cratchett looks JUST like Gary Oldman, Young Scrooge looks eerily similar to Jim Carrey, Fred looks like Cary Elwes. I also loved how they visualized the ghost of Christmas yet to come (which I won't give away), it was very original. Just wonderful, my 9 year old loved it and my husband who hates Disney movies actually came out with a smile on his face and said he really liked it too, so there you go. I definitely want to go see it again and probably will!
