Not only entertaining, but fantastic acting, and a moving story. Jaden Smith inherited his dad's timing and you can see it in almost every frame. Eighties kids will love the nostalgic touches from the original film as well!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I have to say save your ten bucks and wait for the DVD on this one. The first thirty minutes are interesting, and the characters appealing, making you want to stick around and see what happens to them. Too bad the sticking around doesn't pay off. How many times can a family drive just ahead of the road caving in, or fly just a nano second ahead of the building crashing around them. The last two hours of this long movie are filled with painfully loud destruction and nothing but destruction. The actors save the day here. John Cusack is fantastic as always, elicting charm and making us root for him and his family, as are the rest of the formidable actors rounding out the cast. Note to Hollywood..give Cusack more work! He has been missed!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

On the plus side, I would say the movie keeps you wondering how the bad stepfather will finally be found out. However, it takes forever getting there, and there are a few implausibles along the way. Overall, I'd say skip it. Not worth the 9 or 10 bucks..
