Great Movie...one of the best in a long time. Things moved so quickly, and little things became important things, that I feel like I missed a few things. Probably won't go back to the theater to see them, but will rent once it is out on DVD. Go with lots of caffeine and pay close attention. Worth the 3 hours of your time.
The parts on the cruise ship were fun, but the island dragged on and on and on...and the crazy lady is suddenly fine? This was just too much....Wait for the video...I spent a good 20 minutes totally bored, and my son fell asleep during the island, and he loves movies and has been begging to see this one for months. He said to me "well, there is one we don't have to buy"
I think that the reviews must have come from adults who enjoy very slow movies. My husband and 6 year old son saw this because the Chipmunks was sold out. They were both bored. It was an adult story trying to be made into a family movie. They were bored with the characters, and all of the humor had been shown on the trailers. This is a movie that could be seen on video without missing a beat. Don't get me wrong, we like animal movies...loved the whale and dolphin movies this summer. Just don't try to make a movie appeal to kids when it should not be a family movie.
The whole movie had a different tone and different mystery elements than the first. While I was disappointed at first since I loved the first movie, once I adapted and settled in, this movie was just as good. My husband enjoyed it more as there was none of the black magic from the first movie. A definite go see.
What a wonderful movie....it was a little long for the young kids, but it kept their interest except for a few center parts. Great story and amazing locations....I strongly recommend. It stands out as a classic, unlike the Chipmonk's movie we promised to go see this weekend. It may be cute, but never a classic. This is one of those holiday movies I want to see every year, like "A Christmas Story". There were as many adults in the theatre without kids as with.
I have to agree that it was a great movie but the trailer gave the entire movie and plot away. It was enjoyable and worth seeing. Not sure if it wants to be a comedy, action-adventure, drama....but it is worth seeing.
What a great family movie! I think this has been the favorite this year (yes, even better than Cars 2). Good for every member of the family...hope it stays in theaters throughout the holidays so we can take all visitors.
