As a long-time comics fan, I was very happy with Iron Man. Downey, Jr was great, and had just the right take on the character, the effects were very good, and not so "Video-gamey" as lot of current CGI effects-laded films. My only quibble is that there could have been more action, but I'll bet they're saving that for the sequel -- which will definitely happen. A very good summer popcorn movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
