Great camerawork, a feel-great movie

You can't help love this movie, which is like a modern, gritty, tough fairy tale. It's got a definite Bollywood air (the credits at the end are worth the price of admission). The camerawork is powerful and gripping, the story wonderful. I thought some of the violence especially at the beginning (police), was unnecessary. The scenes of Mumbai (Bombay) were incredible. Having been there, I can tell you that the film captures the essential life force and energy that you feel all over India.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A thought provoking film that is beautifully written and gorgeously acted. The man who played the teenager should have been nominated for best supporting actor, and Kate Winslet definitely earned her Oscar. She was amazing. The sex scenes are beautifully and sensitively done. The trial scene is brilliant. Absolutely worth seeing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
