The action sequence were fun to watch and the story is charged with analogies to online gaming and basic addictions that remove one from society. I saw parallels to the humans in Wall*E as far as dependency on technology and the inability (or anxiety) of dealing with the real world.
There were a few moments of "didn't see that coming" and overall I thought the film was good.I don't think it would be worth watching a second time, for me personally, but still a good movie.
I really enjoyed the emotion that you feel in the actions of the characters. The voice acting is believable and lends itself well to the situation of finding yourself in a destroyed world. The music was linked nicely to that world and furthers the desperation. The fight scenes were well choreographed and show how some of the sackpunks have adapted to be fighters while others rely on invention. Overall I enjoyed this movie and felt that the length was just right. At 1hr 20min it's a good story and both give you a satisfying and imaginative movie and don't pretend to be an epic, all encompassing tale. It keeps in scope of the events that the characters are going through and doesn't provide us with any information that the 9 don't have.
