I was a little hesitant about the quality of film that would follow the first TF. But I was pleasantly surprised. This one definitely delivered. My son enjoyed it, I enjoyed it, and there was enough little character tidbits and visuals to compel me to watch it again just to catch it all. The character liberties were enough to mix it up and keep me interested in the new, but didn't stray far enough from the canon to leave a sense of betrayal. I left the theater overwhelmed but satisfied. It was pleasing to hear Frank Welker again after all these years, and now that Frank and Peter are on board (just need Leonard next) I have faith that Bay is up to the task of bringing in the big guy for the next film. Highly recommended.
