It's a typical hollywood film with an all-star cast along with a good amount of thrills and comic relief. Unlike many sequels, Transformers 2 used the same actors from the first movie which was definitely a positive (I would have liked to see Jon Voigt in this one though). If you can get past the nonchalant, overall poor acting of Megan Fox and the complete change of character by LaBeouf's parents in the movie, then no doubt you will enjoy Transformers 2. To conclude on an upbeat note, Rainn Wilson was the perfect cast for his character, and essentially the reason I was so excited to see the film opening night!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
