There were several good ideas presented, but they were poorly carried out. The plot did not mesh with the plot of the first movie at all. Several transformers were introduced just by showing up on screen, and never heard from again. And the new ones that did have starring roles (the twins) were annoying, and a horrible racial stereotype. And if you are like me and thought "no matter what there will be giant robots fighting".... you will be disappointed. Micheal Bay saw it fit to have extreme closeups on all the fight scenes so all you see are pieces of robot and metal with no way of getting a good idea of what is going on.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
