If you've ever read the C.S.Lewis classic and marveled at the intricate characterizations of Alice, the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, et al, then get ready to be seriously disappointed by this film.
This version of Alice revisited does no justice to Lewis' wonderful characters. Instead, we get glossy, amazing digital 3D images without depth. Alice becomes Dorothy of Oz, the Red Queen becomes the Wicked Witch , her sister, the Good Witch of the North, and the battle rages. Somehow the Jabberwocky is transformed into a ravenous monster, and Alice into a dragon slayer. Devoid of character development and plagued with an ever thinning story-line, this movie is simply a special effects tour de force.
My lady said she wanted to see something "light and funny" - trailer info on this chic flick seemed to fit the bill so I reluctantly went along for the ride, However, predictable story lines aside, there are parts of this film that are laugh out loud funny, the acting is terrific and for you guys out there, a 60 second near naked scene for Sandra Bullock is worth the ticket price
