A Visual Spectacle

It's pretty obvious the studio "suits" forced Tim Burton to deviate from Lewis Carroll's original works and transform Alice into a superhero. So if you are a lover of the literary original, you are going to need some willing suspension of dismay. If you can get past that, however, you are going to enjoy a visual feast, with all of the old characters brilliantly portrayed, and the ultimate payoff is the portrayal of the Red Queen by Burton's wife, Helene Bonham Carter, who was BORN to play this role, and destined to be directed by Mr. Burton in the part.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
