I saw lots of bad bad reviews written here and I agree that the expectations of Del Torro were not met but I did enjoy the girl actress and the creepy creatures. I like movies where you get to see the montster a lot and not just at the end. Katie Holmes appeared to play Katie Holmes in the move and the chemistry between her and the lead was not there. I like the story though until the end. Really? I was so let down. I guess I should have expected it based on the other reviews but didnt realize I had been had till the very end. It was like they didnt know how to end it so they left it open to a sequel. The sign of a movie script and not a good story. This story had POTENTIAL and they ruined it.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

It was everything I was hoping for! It is so rare to see a fresh concept in Hollywood these last few years with nothing but remakes of old ideas. (How many Spiderman movies do we Need) I have never been a Daniel Craig fan. To perfect to be real and to small to be Bond but in this movie he was awesome. Bring on your inner Cowboy Mr Craig! The action was paced well and consistant thru the movie. You got to see the Aliens A LOT which is so cool since many movies only let you see them at the end. There were plot twists and great characters. I cant wait to see it again when it comes out on Bluray and I buy it!
I agree with other reviewers that the 3D effects were all but absent. No reason to see it in 3D and dissapointing that they advertised it so strongly in the marketing. I thought it was a "dark" movie with the warrior themes, the underground and the Ogre resistance army. All in all, was my least favorite of the Shrek series. The 1st movie and the Christmas short were what movie goers loved about Shrek and his crew. This movie was nothing like those. Save your $15 and check it out on Redbox for a buck!
