I really liked this movie, as did my 8 year old and my husband. My 4 and 6 year olds found some parts scary, but liked it. I was surprised at the emotional depth of the movie. I didn't think some topics needed to be included - like what happened to the boy's parents - Not integral to the story and goes over the kids' heads. I was also suprised at some of the "action" scenes. There's a scene with fire that caused a child that sat right behind us to burst out screaming/crying. The parents decided to leave. Some of the animals are not nice either. All around a good movie, but I would hesitate taking younger than 7 or 8 year olds.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
