This isn't a typical kids movie, nor an indie thought-provoker, nor, for that matter, a masterpiece; but Rango has memorable moments of humor and depth. And it is a visually stunning movie.
The actors do a good job, although the dialogue drags in places. The animation is fantastic and oftentimes breathtaking.
I will say that the ending left a lot to be desired. They end it on such a positive note; but if anyone stops to think about it, the citizens of Dirt are ultimately doomed!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie has changed the paradigm of the typical sci-fi flick. It gives the viewer all the expected thrills and then, goes beyond, because it puts the viewer into the story itself. It's told so seamlessly; from the superb acting, to the flawless imagery, to the magnificent music - that it transports the viewer into the world that is Pandora; an achievement that's rare with most sci-fi flicks. James Cameron has surpassed all expectations with Avatar - that's also a rare achievement.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie captured what I'd sort of forgotten about Michael Jackson through the years, with all the media attention on his personal life; that he's a genius performer and entertainer. Clearly, at age 50, he works harder than everyone else around him. He's note-perfect: his dancing is flawless. While we kept our focus on all the other stuff, he was working to maintain his art so, when we were ready to move beyond the media hype and the made-up stories, he could take us back to when we were better people and sweep us off our feet again. This movie sort of slapped me across the face and made me realize just how much we lost when we lost him.
