Two words could describe this movie

And those two words would be "contrived" and "explosions." The acting was great but I am oh sick and tired of movies where the main star is explosions. I should have known better, I suppose. If I could get those 2+ hours of my life back they would have been much better spent watching some of the original TV series with its low budget sets and effects. As I recall they at least had thought provoking story lines.
The reason I'm giving it a rating as high as two stars is that I really enjoyed how the actors portrayed Spock, Uhura, McCoy, Sulu, Chekhov and Scotty.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
