Am I the Only One Who Thinks This Movie was Awful?

This movie is way too sad, from start to finish. My 5 year old grandson and his 7 year old friend were asking us "is it almost over" 30 minutes into the film. The movie was so centered on the old man's love for his deceased wife, that my husband and I sat there thinking about our deceased parents, and also when one of us dies and leaves the other. THEN, when the hero of the days when the old man/old woman were youngsters turns out to be the bad guy, what's up with that? This movie lacked the creativity and the upbeat feeling that other Pixar films captured. We won't buy the DVD, and will tell others not to waste their money.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
