The was an enjoyable Potter, but not the exciting action I was expecting, having read the book. Too many important points from the book were left out in favor of new scenes that weren't part of the original story. Much of the book focused on how "He Who Should Not Be Named" came to be and why Snape is the grouch he is. But these tidbits were left out in favor of Hollywood special effects scenes that had nothing to do with the book. It was much like watching a stone skip over the water...it was enjoyable, but not as exciting as seeing what was underneath as passed beneath the surface.
Finally a movie that I didn't have to cringe while watching with our kids. Of course there were the normal "potty" humor jokes, but none of the oh so common off color references that seem to prevade so many movies lately. Ice Age was full of fun and humor for all ages!
