Gone is the space-opera stigma of all the Star Trek iterations past! This had a real plot, professional acting, and none of the previous interpretations' lasy smugness. Intelligent and sexy... this would have been just as successful if it had been marketed as an entirely original movie with no Star Trek tie-in. I get the money factor, but this movie didn't need the coattails.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
