StarTrek: The Reboot

This film is at once sequel, prequel & reboot & does a superb job at all 3. It really is the sequel to Nemesis as we find out as the events are explained. The plot resembles to the prior film in that a rogue Romulan tries to settle a grudge against the Federation using a massive ship (it even oddly echoes the younger/older Picard theme), but it's a much better film. It's a prequel as well, but the twist is that it also reboots the franchise in a way that leaves the writers of the next film the freedom to go any direction their creativity takes them (really does honor the irreverent and surprising spirit of the original Star Trek). And if the team is the same one that crafted this extraordinary work, I hope they follow up very, very soon.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
