After reading the novel, the movie was a bit of a let down. We still enjoyed it, but it was not clenching at your seat exciting. And, we feel that if you hadn't read the book, it would have been very confusing. I am a now and then Catholic and enjoyed learning and seeing more about the history of the Church and whatever may be fictionalized. It was still fun! In all, read the book, forego the movie!!
