The relationships were complex, scenery was excellent, with the exception of the lack of visual focus in some scenes. I liked the way the scenes changed. The rituals at dinner were interesting. I didn't mind the english subtiles. The apparent contradictions in the normal, expected behaviors in an upper class european family, gave the movie an interesting quality. This movie needs more than one viewing to really take in the plot.
I thought that the casting was very good. The storyline is believable. The animation and computer graphics very good. Looks like the door was left open for a sequel. Jake Gyllenhahl was excellent. Ben Kingsley and the other major supporting characters played their roles well.
The selection of locations was very good. The attempt to remain within historical perspectives is reasonably done. Casting was very good. Marian Loxley character is very different in this movie. She is less the damsel in distress, more the headstrong mistress.
I plan to see this movie several times.
I wonder! Did the producers and directors leave open the possibility of a sequel?
A very informative and enlightening look at our seas and their importance to this planet. The photography is excellent. I was amazed at all of the different events and wildlife movements that occur just under the surface of a substance that covers two thirds of our world. I hope Disney nature does another ocean movie in the future, because I'm certain they didn't but scratch the surface of what occurs in our oceans.
An excellent speculative collaboration regarding the "so called" WMD's we never found in Iraq. A well woven plot, believable, pertinent to our times. He still tends to "chase" excessively in all his movies, but this movie is not a complete fictional plot, because it raises possible realities regarding the middle east. I liked the casting.
