I liked the photography. The panoramic views of the African Masai mara plains were spectacular. The study of the two dominant cat species in the area was well done. The other wildlife that populates the reserve added to the story of the african ecosystem. The only dissapointment! Where is the 3D? This film would have been so much better in 3D! Someone dropped the ball!
Acting and casting first rate. Camera and scene design very convincing. A moving portrayal of a pivotal time in our nations history. Isn't it interesting that, in a moment of fighting for a belief in constitutional government, we were being led by a scoundrel who trampled, freely, on the very document he purported to respect and defend? Brings to mind a certain character in our recent history, who used the same tactics.
I had reservations about seeing this movie. I wasn't really interested in this human interest true story. Boy, am i glad I listened to my wife. This is an excellent story about loss and recovery. Gosee this movie!
Not having read the book, my wife and I went into the movie with out knowing much about the plot. I found the movie absolutely first rate. Words like "Astounding, sensual, tragic, etc. come to mind. All of the actors played their roles brilliantly. My wife and I are going to see it again, and I will own this great, love tale, both in print, and on a DVD. The proposal scene, in the glen, near the brook, is particularly well done! Intense and gripping is the dialogue between the two lovers. It had me on the edge of my seat.
Seems a bit far fetched, to me. Leaves you guessing as to what that collection of (Intergalactic / interdimensional?) misfits final design really is. Reminds me of Inception!!
Yes, there is another chase scene, but not as long and boring as the ones in Bourne Identity, or Bourne Ultimatum. The ever changing plot is what makes this movie better than Liam's performance in "Taken". Worth seeing again, and a definite video library candidate!
Familial dysfunction amid a fractured economic system. People living at the extreme edge of their society, coping with day to day life, and the choices, and consequences, thereof, of their actions. Javier is at his usual excellent acting best. A typically long foreign film. I liked "Love in the time of Cholera" better than this film, but I recommend this movie because of the tragic nature of it.
This movie is not your run of the mill exorcism thriller. The casting was very good. The movie makes you think about belief, faith, and the ability og the human soul to absorb the parameters of theology. Even though I have never seen a ghost, apparition, or any other psychic phenomena, this movie makes me ponder!
