"Up" - Should have been "Downer"

I took my wife and 8 year old daughter to see this flick. My wife and I felt that this movie had too much tragedy, pain, and 'adult' subject matter for a children's movie - as quoted by another reviewer: "the pain of growing old alone, the death of a spouse, inability to conceive, public humiliation, and mental health issues". The violence with having the dogs shooting at the boy, and the end result of the villain falling to his 'assumed' death were not what I consider to be entertaining from Pixar's kid selection - rather more like what I would find from adult titles like "Die Hard" and "Indiana Jones". I was not pleased with how I felt leaving the movie theater. Try a little harder for the kids next time Pixar - Toy Story this was not.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
