The Met presentation of this opera was overall excellent. Camera work was superb, singing sensational, very well acted. Brilliant cast and a remarkable relatively new singer playing Siegfried with enthusiasm. In my opinion this is the best Opera of the Ring Cycle. If you can only see one of the four in the cycle see Gotterdammerung. If you can see all four.
Only criticism was the theater sound system, but this could have been
the recording or satellite transmission of the opera. Additionally the staging was a bit distracting, otherwise I would have rated special effects higher.
One other note, the entire ring cycle will be available on DVD
in November 2012.

Grabs you by the throat from first frame till the credits. Really a dark film and deadly serious. Some of the best actors in the business are cast here. Screen play was extremely well written, direction and editing are extraordinary.
Tense setup and suspense throughout. Heath Ledgers performance is not hype...it is brilliant. Christian Bale easily the best Batman ever. Word of caution for some...this is an incredibly violent film. That said if you are into crisp excellently directied action films...this is it. Dark Knight sums it up!

Great fun!
Harrison still perfect as Indiana Jones (IMHO Jones is the best Mythic Hero of modern invention). Films pace is non stop action. Story line may be the furthest out of the four films( won't spoil it).
Only criticism is that CGI is being used more than ever for special effects. There are still plenty of low tech effects though that are well done. Great Stunts! Bottom line, if you are a Indiana Jones fan you'll love it! If not you may still enjoy it anyway.
