Although, I do love Vanilla Bean flavor when it comes to ice cream, I prefer my movies not to be so. As usual, the coupling of Ron Howard and Tom Hanks makes for a very bland adaptation of an otherwise stellar action-packed book. For those fans who have read both 'Da Vinci Code' and 'Angels & Demons', I'm sure most of them will leave the theater appreciating the intricate plot lines, well defined characters, incredible pacing, and shocking plot twists of the book even more after the movie falls flat on trying to deliver the awesome pull that these books had on their readers.
The movie is too literal, and we don't know enough about the characters to really care what their motivations are too.
