I was not too keen about the 60's TV series but am a BIG fan of most of the movies. This movie in particular, I felt, had a good start with the earlier Star Trek series of movies beginning with The Wrath of Khan, especially when it came to referencing the Kobiashi Maru test for Kirk. I was surprised by the relationship between Spock and Uhura, but happy to see that he did have a more 'human' side to him in his early years, if that is what the original writers intended for Spock's character. I will go back to the theatre and see it again. I have told ALL my friends and coworkers that it is DEFINATELY worth the time to see!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
