Don't bother with 3D Imax

There were a few "Oh good grief, can we please move along?" moments at the end, but overall the movie was pretty good. What annoyed me was the lack of anything truly 3D. Nothing 'jumped' out at me, and one of our guests didn't even bother with her 3D glasses for half the movie. Since 3D Imax is more expensive, I was annoyed at spending the extra money for nothing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Excellent Adaptation!

I grew up watching Star Trek or "Spock" as my mother used to call it. Everyday at 5pm on the local channels we would catch the newest episode. And this was an awesome adaptation of the series. It gave insight into the characters' personalities and why they did things a certain way. Graphics were good. Dialog was excellent. Even the cameos were used to explain the ties between past and future. Nothing cheesy here. Great, great job!
