The movie was even better than I expected...the new actors were very true to the characters and the effects were great without being so over the top as to be unbelievable. Of course you're going to have a handful of Trekkie purists who can't stomach a new interpretation of the classic Trek cast and story, but if it's good enough for Nimoy it should be good enough for them. They need to get over it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
