Action, passion, and humour--it must be Star Trek

Star Trek is a significant component in my cultural DNA. Yet, my passion for Star Trek and science fiction is not one I openly share. No, its not shame, but the fact that I will settle for weaker plot lines, subpar acting and overt sexism to get my fix. Justifying this to more PC friends was something I tried to avoid.
And while the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica brought me out of the closet, this movie removed the door. It is wonderful. The silliness of the original series, the character driven humour, and the action are well balanced. The future looks good for us Trekkies.
If Star Trek is in your genes too, go see it, on a big screen. It will make you proud.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
